What relationship can there be between love and duty? (GC #31)

Love is spontaneity, in San Pablo an incomparable description of love is offered: “Love is patient, it is helpful; love is not envious, it does not boast or get fat; it is decorous; not looking for your interest; does not get irritated; does not take evil into account; he is not glad of injustice; He is happy with the truth. Everything excuses. He believes everything. He expects everything. Everything supports it ”(1Co 13, 4-7). "If I have no love, I am nothing ... And all that is privilege, service, virtue itself ... if I have no love, nothing takes advantage of me" (1Co 13, 1-4).

"God so loved the world that he gave his only Son" (Jn 3:16).

"If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love" (Jn 15, 9-10; Mt 22, 40; Rm 13, 8-10).

I believe that we have a duty to keep God's commandments to show love.
