Does Baptism save us?

Acts 2:38 where Peter says:
"Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
As preached and thought by many churches and i want to ask if you must be baptized to be saved or can you go to hell for just not being baptized?

Baptism is not salvation, but is symbolizes that you are saved

John 1:33-34 (KJV)
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Baptism accompany salvation, it is the power to remain saved through the power of the Spirit of GOD.

Jesus saves with his blood of sacrifice unto the remission of sin, and after that, he baptizes with Holy Spirit which is the power to become a child if GOD. Water baptism is a symbol and an open declaration of one's faith in salvation that Christ give.

The real baptism is the baptism of the Holy Ghost which is the power that every son must have to overcome the world.

Let me attempt your question with another question.

The man at the cross who Jesus told, "Today you shall be with me in paradise, was he baptised?

"Believe on the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved, you and your house".

Baptism is fulfill all righteousness.
