When we say one is delivered what does it mean?
- faith SteemChurch
I see people get so happy each time the hear of deliverance service conducted some where.
In the real sense what is deliverance?
What can someone be delivered from.
Is it sin, pains, Tribulations etc.
In your own view what is deliverance and what can someone be delivered from?
Deliverance is having been liberated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear son, Jesus (Colossians 1: 13-14).
Deliverance means to rescue or liberate.
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, (ESV)
From the above we can deduce that there two major kingdoms in the realm of existence. Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Light.
In these kingdoms there are two contending and controlling kings, King JESUS the deliverer and satan the devil.
The kingdom of darkness is a "SIN" slave kingdom where the devil controls those he holds captive.
The kingdom of LIGHT is where JESUS CHRIST reigns in righteousness.
One can be delivered from this sin, darkness intothe kingdom of righteousness of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
Liberation is to take a person to meet Jesus, the same word says it to the one who receives the son of man, he will be truly free.
Deliverance is to rescue someone from danger or from any unpleasant condition.
Deliverance is relative, some would want to be delivered from this and another person might want be delivered from another thing.
But as it relates to Christian faith, Jesus is our deliverer, and that he has done once and for all when he paid the price on the cross; crucified, buried and resurrected.
Another deliverance that is mentioned the scriptures is casting out of demons, but unfortunately many running around for all manner deliverance today are just being superstitious, the deliverance that many needs is just right information and a change of lifestyle not prayers.
being free from all demonic influence and
