Salvation is totally Free. ..."ye are saved by grace, not by works of righteous"...
the work you are referring to is the the responsibility you have to take as a born again child of God. Redemption entails responsibilities and not carefree living. that is why Paul in one of his letters to the church said ... qork out your salvation with fear and trembling

Objectively, salvation is not workcomponent! Salvation in another word is deliverance and is only the weak and helpless that needs deliverance(salvation)!
Despite the importance of human agency, salvation is attributed above all to God. None but God can save ( Isa 43:14 ; Hosea 1:7 ).
The content of God's salvation includes personal and national deliverance from one's enemies, deliverance from slavery , ongoing protection and preservation from evil ,escape from death, healing ( Psalm 69:29 ; Jer 17:14 ), inheritance of land, descendants, and long life.
All these can only be given freely to us by God through Jesus! Our requirements is just to trust and love Him totally!
